TWA HOTEL, New York NY
After laying dormant for 15 years, Eero Saarinen’s mid-century masterpiece was painstakingly restored and reopened to the public with the addition of a hotel, restaurant, and conference center. The former flight center acts as the lobby for the hotel and cornerstone of the restaurant and conference complex. Always Already’s role (as Dotan Gertler Studio) focused on the 46,000 subterranean Conference Center, creating a suite of visualizations to hone the interior design of the spaces, which required using innovative lighting and spatial organization to animate the underground space.
